Providing services that meet the needs of families for 90 years, Ruth Dykeman Children's Center is looking for passionate and dedicated people who want to make a difference in a child's life, gain experience in the social services field and have fun while doing it!
Position Summary: We are currently hiring Part Time BRS Counselors for the summer for our Day (7:00am -- 3:00pm) and Evening (3:00pm -- 11:00pm) Shifts at RDCC (a program of Navos). BRS Counselors provide direct care and supervision of behaviorally challenged and emotionally disturbed children in our residential care facilities. This position plans and directs recreational, education and therapeutic activities along with promoting and facilitating group living skills with the children.
Education, Experience, and Certification: Applicants must possess: a Bachelor Degree in Behavior Sciences (preferred) or High School Diploma or equivalent. One year experience working with youth required. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid WA State Driver's License, Current First Aid and CPR certification and WA State Food Handlers Permit (the Agency will provide on-site training opportunities). Effective communication, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Physical Abilities: Ability to perform a range of physical motions including but not limited to: Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs; Standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time; Kneeling, squatting, and stooping; Running for brief periods of time
Compensation: $11.46 per hour
