ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County (BGCSC) is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those that need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. We have nearly 15,000 members ages 5-18 at over 17 clubs and 16 extension/school sites, and serve over 500,000 snacks and hot meals to youth every year. We provide programs in five core areas: Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, the Arts and Sports/Fitness/Recreation.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The RD Associate will work at the county-wide level to execute on resource development and marketing/communication strategies that are identified in the VAD. This position focuses on engaging the community and building capacity in the organization, with the ultimate goal of reducing poverty in our community through enabling great futures for our youth.
KEY ROLES (Essential Position Responsibilities):
Resource Development
• Assist in the development and execution of fundraising strategies
• Support donor acknowledgement, recognition and outreach through various channels
• Support special event fundraising activities
• Support capital campaign efforts
• Identify and support donor acquisition strategies
• Capture and track volunteer opportunities
• Personally recruit and engage a group of women in the community to focus on a programmatic initiative to support educational advancement for girls in our clubs.
Marketing & Communications
• Support creation and execution of a marketing and communications plan
• Increase the visibility of BGCSC through various channels, including newsletters, website, social media, video, and direct mail and events.
• Identify success stories and club impact, and share information through various communication channels
• Assist in design of a social media strategy, and manage social media tools
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to work with youth and adults of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds
• Ability to identify and address needs of volunteers, funders and communities
• Ability to work as a team member with club staff, volunteers and representatives of other community agencies
• Ability to evaluate and document program participation and effectiveness
• Ability to actively recruit volunteers for programs
• Ability to work independently and in an organized manner
• Ability to process and manage detail-oriented activities and/or programs
Education and Experience Required
BA/BS degree in marketing, communications, human services, English, or related field required (or equivalent experience)
Project management experience desired
Physical Requirements/ Work Environment
The successful candidate must be able to use variety office equipment including computer, telephone, and / or other equipment. S/he may be required to lift supplies, materials, and collateral materials up to 35 pounds.
