Become an integral and valued part of a team working to achieve Amara’s vision of “a home for every child.” We are currently seeking an Adoption and Foster Care Specialist to join our clinical team. This individual will be responsible for providing a wide range of services on behalf of children in need of permanency, including family preparation and homestudy assessment; child transition and placement; post-placement monitoring and support; and liaising with multiple professionals in the child welfare arena. All Specialists must participate in facilitation of family trainings and support groups, and must be able to flex hours to accommodate family needs on an occasional and ongoing basis.

POSITION REQUIRES
  • MSW or equivalent in similar field
  • A minimum of 4 years of full time social work experience
  • Experience working with families of different ages, religions, races and cultures
  • Knowledge of child developmental levels and family systems
  • Commitment to carefully documenting case records, client and peripheral interactions legal paperwork, and other service delivery information
  • Ability to work in tandem with an outstanding professional team
  • Initiative, independence, flexibility, maturity and a sense of humor
  • A valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
SALARY
$38,000 starting salary DOE. Generous personal leave and benefits package, including paid time off; health, dental, life and disability insurance; and 401K plan.
