Friends of Youth is looking to add to their dynamic Outreach team in Homeless Youth services. We are searching for a person who is formerly homeless ,currently living in stable housing, and is responsible, punctual, and able to demonstrate leadership qualities within the community.

The Outreach Peer Leader is responsible for contacting and providing information and resource referrals to out-of-home youth on the eastside of Seattle. The Peer Leader works as part of a team with a full-time Street Outreach Worker. Monthly participation in a youth advisory committee with other peer leaders and Outreach Coordinator, as part of the county-wide outreach project, is required.


Education and Experience:


Experience or interest in working with youth.

Have lived out-of-parents' home as teen or close experience with youth who has lived out-of-parents' home as teen.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


Familiarity with Eastside resources is helpful.

Understanding of normal adolescent development.

Comfortable interacting with youth in informal settings.

Consistently maintain any required paperwork.

Friends of Youth is currently seeking a Program Information Specialist. The position is located in our Redmond office and will have a range of duties including data collection, entry, analysis, and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail. In addition, the ideal person for this position has initiative and is skilled in multi-tasking and prioritizing.

Description :

The Program Information Specialist performs various tasks, including but not limited to: oversight and reporting of client demographic and outcome data to multiple sources such as grant writers, funders and other agency stakeholders; collecting and analyzing data from multiple programs; coordinating agency-wide performance and quality improvement process; and other duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Software proficient (MS Office: Word, Outlook); advanced knowledge of Excel, including advanced formula skills, filtering, sorting, data cleaning, and merging of tables; knowledge of data systems (Salesforce, SharePoint 2010 preferred)

• Proficient in data collection and reporting techniques; be detail oriented, and have strong organizational skills.

• Be skilled in accurate and time-sensitive data entry & reporting; be able to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and meet reporting deadlines.

• Willingness/ability to commute to Redmond (and Totem Lake when the office moves in Fall 2012)

• A bachelor's degree in related field.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position is full-time and non-exempt. Work hours will vary and may require working evenings and weekends.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Bilingual School Teacher is responsible for educational services in a structured classroom setting appropriate to the development and communication skills of refugee minors with a concentration on basic academic competencies, and English language training. Academic areas should include Science, Social Studies, Math, Reading, Writing, and Physical Education. The Bilingual School Teacher will work with a senior teacher as well as AmeriCorps members and other volunteers. In the event there are no students enrolled in the ORR program the Bilingual School Teacher will continue to develop the educational program, and support Casa program needs with short-term floor coverage.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach all academic areas in Spanish for a 6-hour class day, working together with the Teaching Team.

• Develop a curriculum plan to promote student learning that incorporates weekly lesson/activity planning, and material preparation tailoring lessons to individual and cultural needs and interests.

• Supervise, support, teach, and mentor AmeriCorps Members and other classroom volunteers.

• Assess student English skills, academic ability, and learning styles via personal academic history, goals, and interests.

• Evaluate student progress through weekly tracking of attendance, school hours, participation, completing tasks, and daily productivity points.

Meet with clients on a regular basis to discuss progress, and areas of improvement.

• Prepare weekly lesson plans, class schedule, activities, and outings, in accordance with ORR curriculum guidelines.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position is full time and non-exempt. Work schedule will vary and will be finalized with the successful candidate upon hire.


POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Case Manager at Casa de los Amigos will be responsible for the day-to-day case management services and coordination with Homeland Security's Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Juvenile Coordinator for the Unaccompanied Minor youth placed in the Shelter under the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Duties include all intake and exit paperwork, case planning, crisis intervention, transportation, providing or obtaining translation services, and ensuring clients meet all immigration related court appointments and requirements. This position requires shift responsibilities and on-call paper responsibility, a high degree of flexibility in responding to emergent needs of youth in crisis, and good organizational and documentation skills.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide a minimum of 20 hours weekly of direct client contact, including face-to-face counseling, and appropriate outside functions, such as obtaining clothing, or escorting to appointments.

• Carry a caseload of up to 10 active clients.

• Assess each client's need for services and develop and document service plans that best meet the client request while respecting both ORR and ICE regulations and as clinically appropriate.

• Provide referrals and ensure that each client fully receives routine legal consultation and/or representation, mental health services, religious and cultural requirements, recreational programming and other services as directed by ORR regulations.

• Advocate for and educate clients on immigrant rights and restrictions.

• Complete and submit all documentation in a timely manner, including client intake and exit paperwork; assessment and service plans; child trafficking or cognitive screens if needed; authorizations for placement and medical treatment; family reunification packet and sponsor background checks; maintaining the TMS database; ORR monthly facility census report, quarterly narratives, program summaries, etc. as requested.

• Review caseload weekly with Program Manager, 3rd Party GDIT, Federal Field Specialist and Mental Health Therapist.

• Provide regular staff training on updated ORR paperwork, program requirements, immigrant and refugee issues, etc. as needed.

• Be available on-call 24 hours a day to respond to intakes, address clinical emergencies involving ORR clients, releases, issues involving language barriers, etc.

• Attend a minimum of six in-service or equivalent trainings per year; including ORR required trainings and the annual ORR DUCS Policies and Procedures conference.

• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Program Manager at the Bridge Program, the Overnight Youth Counselor is responsible for coordination of services for clients placed in the program. The facility is for youth with behavioral and emotional issues. Additionally, this program specializes in serving commercially sexually exploited youth who are recovering from complex trauma. The Overnight Youth Counselor must balance nurturing and listening while setting limits and maintaining program stability. The Overnight Youth Counselor must also be adaptable and flexible while maintaining a safe environment. This is an awake overnight position that requires regular monitoring of clients and other duties as assigned.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide crisis intervention and counseling to clients in care.

• Provide advocacy services, including informal counseling, and community referrals.

• Maintain a secure and safe facility.

• Must remain awake during entire shift.

• Must perform bed checks per licensing and program requirements (randomly every 10-20 minutes until 2:00 a.m. and then randomly every 20-30 minutes for the remainder of the shift). During checks, you must ensure that you see the client's skin and you see them breathing to ensure that they are actually in the bed.

• Perform a thorough inspection of the grounds around the program at least twice during your shift.

• Maintain accurate case files, log entries, and other necessary client records.

• Complete an incident report on any facility damage, medical emergency, or any incident, which occurs out of the ordinary daily functioning of the house.

• You may also be asked by your supervisor to do the Weekly Medical Reconciliation and/or other filing/paperwork.

• Assist with food preparation as needed.

• Ensure that there are adequate copies of all standard file documentation (e.g., screening forms, assessments, etc.).

• Assist in packing up exited client belongings.

• Maintain the cleanliness of staff bathrooms and general facility.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA preferred -- Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

4. Identify, develop, implement and manage fundraising events, individual and corporate gifts, foundations and grants. Incorporate existing staff and volunteers to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.
5. Create and implement community outreach plans to build awareness of events. Identify, solicit and cultivate individual donors and businesses/corporations to secure monetary and in-kind sponsorships and donations as appropriate to the event. Ensure the fulfillment of all sponsorship benefits.
6. Responsible for all creative and logistical aspects of the event to ensure efficiencies and deadlines. Promote and publicize the event to the media and community. Ensure delivery and distribution of all promotional materials supporting the event.  Develop, maintain and manage vendor relationships.
7. Ensure that MADD is in compliance with all regulatory requirements for conducting the event, including proper logo and branding, and timely filing or submission of permits/applications/fees.

RELATIONSHIPS:

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
 Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and five years management experience
 Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record as determined by BGCKC Vehicle Loss Prevention Program, must be 21 years old or older to drive Club owned and operated vehicles
 Successful completion of National Criminal History Background check
 Current CPR, First Aid, and BBP/HIV/AIDS Certifications
 Current STARS trainings, immunizations, certifications and any other requirements to be in compliance with DSHS licensing and any state requirements

The Case Manager will manage a caseload of 7 - 8 individuals. The case manager will work closely with the case management team; therapist, counselors, and legal service provider to see that all of the individuals needs are being met.
