POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
THERAPIST FOR YOUNG ADULTS IN SUPPORTIVE HOUSING

Kent Youth and Family Services is recruiting for therapist to provide therapeutic services to young adults (18-25) in a Supportive housing program entitled "Coming Up". This position provides wide-ranging, interdisciplinary health services to homeless young adults with a focus in the area of comprehensive and integrated home based mental health assessment and treatment services. Services are provided on an outreach basis. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Manager of Counseling Programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for home based counseling services.
• Provide intake, assessment and therapy to young adults ages 18 - 25.
• Maintain paperwork associated with therapeutic services.
• Work collaboratively with multiple team members from other community based organizations.
• Attend and participate in all staff meetings, clinical consultations and in-service trainings.
• Functions as a member of the "Coming Up" team and Kent Youth and Family Services Clinical Department.
• Seek continuing education and training related to providing therapeutic services to the target population.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Social Work required; license preferred.
• Chemical Dependency Professional or Chemical Dependency Professional Trainee.
• Experience with the managed, comprehensive and integrated mental health systems, assessments and treatment services.
• Appreciation and respect for diversity.
• Commitment to developing cultural competency.
• Commitment to working as an effective member of the "Coming Up" team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Satisfactory completion of required Washington State Patrol background check.
• Must have valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Bilingual preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Work is performed in a home environment with periods of driving. Individual will use computer requiring hand/wrist/finger movement and viewing of computer terminal.

HOURS AND COMPENSATION
• Full time, exempt position.
• Benefit package including medical, dental, vision, short term disability, life insurance and 403b retirement plan.
• In accordance with Kent Youth and Family Services salary structure and based upon qualifications.
