The YMCA Kirkland Teen Union Building is looking for part time Teen Center Instructors in the speciality areas of art and music.
CAFE INSTRUCTOR: Oversees the KTUB Café including all café programs and events as well as participates in general drop in activities with youth ages 13 -- 18.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. 20 years of age or older for most programs (a minimum of two years older than oldest program participant.)
2. Current state approved first aid certification.*
3. Current state approved CPR certification.*
4. Experience with youth the same ages to be served preferred.
5. Knowledge of safety rules for program and building policies.
6. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
7. Ability to setup, move, and store equipment.
8. Ability to develop and lead a variety of activities for youth.
9. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

PRINCIPLE CAFÉ RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Organize cafe program layout and schedule
2. Teach basic barista skills
3. Ongoing curriculum development for the cafe training program
4. Stock, clean, and maintain the cafe
5. Promote KTUB Cafe program
6. Network with local cafes for sponsorship/support
7. Answers questions for parents and participants.
8. Attends staff meetings and required trainings.
BAND DEVELOPMENT/MUSIC INSTRUCTOR: Responsible for booking and managing concerts, running an annual music contest and band development calendar,and driving music department growth.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Put on 1-2 sold out concerts a month.
2. Produce and develop young bands.
3. Coordinate seminars, music lessons, and open mics.
4. Grow the music department
5. Run One Song, One Chance.
