  1. Position: Pacific Science Center seeks a Development Coordinator to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Development division’s administration and donor support to drive fiscal sustainability and cultivate investment in Pacific Science Center. The Coordinator works to support both the Vice President for Development as well as various projects throughout the Development & Membership Division. The ideal candidate has a minimum of one year of administrative experience, preferably in a non-profit, excellent verbal and writing skills including presentation skills, is detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and is highly productive. The Coordinator must be flexible to work on simultaneous projects or changing priorities as well as to work cooperatively with a variety of people.

  1. Key Job Responsibilities:
Development Administration
  1. Provide administrative support to VP for Development (manage calendar, track projects, plan meetings)
  2. Maintain master schedule for division and coordinate communication
  3. Schedule and coordinate division meetings and Board Development Committee meetings
  4. Provide general support for Development projects such as mailings, events, grant packets, and telefund
  5. Perform office functions such as maintain office and equipment supplies
  6. Coordinate and assemble monthly department reports
  7. Code invoices for the VP for Development and track department expenses
  8. Provide phone coverage for VP for Development and other Development management as needed
Donor Relations
  1. Maintain department and donor files
  2. Supervise department volunteers and coordinate volunteer projects
  3. Provide general support for members of the Board of Directors and Board Development Committee
  4. Manage donor acknowledgement process (thank you letter production, copying, mailing, and filing)
  5. Track, maintain, and acknowledge in-kind donations throughout PSC
Development
  1. Manage and process corporate matching gifts
  2. Managing the “Make Your Mark” program
Other duties as assigned, including 5 days per year of alternative service
  1. Major Challenges and Special Conditions: Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends. Must be able to handle confidential information and materials.

Position Requirements:Minimum of one year of administrative experience, preferably in a non-profit; proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook; skilled in using the Internet, including search engines. Excellent verbal and writing skills, including presentation skills; detail oriented with excellent organizational skills; good problem solving skills and initiative; highly productive; Flexible to work on projects simultaneously or change priorities; ability to work cooperatively with a variety of people; and excellent customer service skills
