Girl Scouts of Western Washington (GirlScoutsWW.org) is expanding our staff! We are seeking a Program Quality and Volunteer Manager to ensure that girls participating in our Outreach Troops experience quality program delivery based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) and Youth Program Quality (YPQ) Initiative. Our outreach programs provide the extra support necessary to ensure girls in low income communities and underserved populations have the opportunity to participate in Girl Scouts. The Program Quality and Volunteer Manager is also responsible for the recruitment, training, support and recognition of volunteers within the Outreach department and will act as the lead to design and implement college and corporate volunteer partnerships. The successful applicant will have experience with youth program development, experience successfully implementing YPQ or a similar quality improvement and measurement process and experience managing volunteers. This position can be based in either our DuPont office or our Seattle office.

Essential Functions:
Primary
Program Quality
In coordination with VP of Outreach and Department Managers act as lead to create and implement a comprehensive plan expand use of Youth Program Quality (YPQ) standards across all Outreach program sites.

• Train all department staff on use of the YPQ assessment tools,
• Complete regular program observations and
• Support 10-15 direct service staff members in the creation of and implementation of quality improvement plans.
• Facilitate quarterly departmental trainings for direct service staff to assist with overall program quality improvement and ongoing professional development.
• Act as GSWW agency resource for YPQ

Volunteer Management

In conjunction with VP of Outreach and Volunteer Services Department (VS), create plan and timeline for developing a comprehensive volunteer-driven program within the Outreach Department. Work with colleges and corporations to create ongoing volunteer partnerships which may include social work student practicum placement. Recruit, screen, manage, evaluate and re-assign volunteers, and/or oversee the volunteer management work of other Outreach staff.

• Recruit volunteers from targeted markets to assistant with Girl Scout troop meetings serving girls in specific underserved populations.
• Review applications and evaluate work/volunteer history, skills, training, interest and other qualifications with Outreach programs' volunteer needs and opportunities.
• Conduct volunteer screening, assessment and placement.
• Work in partnership with Volunteer Services to develop workshops to prepare new volunteers for their positions.
• In conjunction with Volunteer Services, evaluate/assess, recognize and reassign volunteers during and/or upon completion of their assignment to ensure quality and consistency of performance and experience.
• Work in partnership with Volunteer Services to undertake any needed volunteer corrective action or termination.

Secondary

Represent GSWW's Outreach Department both internally and externally. Lead collaborative efforts across programs within the Outreach Department, across departments within GSWW and between GSWW and other Youth Serving organizations.

• Represent GSWW as a contributing member of various community stakeholders groups.
• Act as department lead for the implementation of the annual girl outcomes survey.
• Assist with the compilation of reports to funders as pertains to the functions of the position.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education and work experience.
• MSW and ability to supervise social work practicum students a plus.
• Minimum one year's experience successfully managing or supporting volunteers in direct or indirect program delivery.
• Experience successfully implementing YPQ or similar quality improvement and measurement process.
• Experience working in low income and racially diverse communities.
• Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of youth development strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Girl Scout program helpful.
• Excellent customer experience/service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to be able to work with individuals at all levels and backgrounds.
• Previous work experience utilizing conflict resolution skills.
• Availability to work varied hours, including some nights and weekends.
• Skilled in Outlook, Word and Excel, and familiarity with Access or other database system.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritizes deadlines, work independently, take initiative, highly organized, and maintain confidentiality in a fast paced and challenging work environment.
• Valid Washington State driver's license, vehicle in working condition, proof of insurance, or the ability to fulfill timely and extensive travel requirements across widespread regional geography.
• Satisfactory results from criminal background search.
• Willingness to maintain membership in Girl Scouts.
