The University of Washington, Information School has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Development Manager to serve under the general direction of the Associate Dean for Research. The Research Development Manager will provide support for the Information School in the areas of grant writing, development of our research culture, research collaborations, partnerships and external relations.

This position requires an overall understanding of the Information School’s research mission and goals as well as in-depth knowledge of individual research programs and projects at the Information School with a focus on research development, formation and dissemination for faculty, researchers and students.

The Research Development Manager will be expected to assist the Associate Dean for Research to promote the research culture through a variety of outreach activities as well as facilitating collaborations across units, campuses and communities. In the iSchool there is an expectation that all faculty and staff will step up where they see an opportunity to apply their special expertise or talents, speak up when they identify opportunities or concerns, and lead by taking actions that exemplify the iSchool’s core values. Leadership within the iSchool is expressed in diverse ways reflecting the variety of styles and cultures that are represented by our faculty and staff.

The Research Development Manager will be expected to exhibit discretion, independence, good judgment, and the ability to work in an intense, dynamic, and sometimes stressful environment. This position will involve determining priorities while simultaneously juggling a number of activities.
