Tibbetts United Methodist Church, located at 3940 41st Ave. SW, Seattle (West Seattle), is seeking to transform its Youth Ministry into a supportive diverse ministry with multiple resources and leaders. We are seeking a Youth Ministry Director that can help us move into the mission and vision listed below over the next 5 years. This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week year round. - Create proposals for new activities, trainings and teams
- Be able to identify gifts and talents for team member recruitment
- Be comfortable with delegation of tasks to volunteers
- Be dependable
- Visit new youth and their families
- Meet regularly with the pastor and Youth Council
- Be able to perform job duties with minimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, multi-task and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines.
- Be able to engage in clear long- term planning
- Network with youth in the community, District and Conference levels
- Be able to create and manage a budget
- Acknowledge and embrace diversity in all forms, because Tibbetts is a Reconciling Congregation!
- Have prior youth ministry leadership experience
- Desired Start date August 1, 2012
- This is a 20 hour per week position
- This position is year round
- The hourly pay is $ 15.00.
- The Candidate will successfully complete a background check
- The Youth Ministry Director will be trained in and will comply with all Safe Sanctuary practices/understand mandatory reporting rules related to youth/children/ vulnerable adults
- The Candidate will be qualified to drive the church van
- Tibbetts provides opportunities for paid continuing education training in approved areas.
- Provide two professional reference letters
