Tibbetts United Methodist Church, located at 3940 41st Ave. SW, Seattle (West Seattle), is seeking to transform its Youth Ministry into a supportive diverse ministry with multiple resources and leaders. We are seeking a Youth Ministry Director that can help us move into the mission and vision listed below over the next 5 years. This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week year round.   • Value Christian fellowship

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Work independently and within teams
  • Create proposals for new activities, trainings and teams
  • Be able to identify gifts and talents for team member recruitment
  • Be comfortable with delegation of tasks to volunteers
  • Be dependable
  • Visit new youth and their families
  • Meet regularly with the pastor and Youth Council
  • Be able to perform job duties with minimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, multi-task and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines.
  • Be able to engage in clear long- term planning
  • Network with youth in the community, District and Conference levels
  • Be able to create and manage a budget
  • Acknowledge and embrace diversity in all forms, because Tibbetts is a Reconciling Congregation!
  • Have prior youth ministry leadership experience
Job Information:
  • Desired Start date August 1, 2012 
  • This is a 20 hour per week position
  • This position is year round
  • The hourly pay is $ 15.00.
  • The Candidate will successfully complete a background check 
  • The Youth Ministry Director will be trained in and will comply with all Safe Sanctuary practices/understand mandatory reporting rules related to youth/children/ vulnerable adults
  • The Candidate will be qualified to drive the church van
  • Tibbetts provides opportunities for paid continuing education training in approved areas.
