Girl Scouts of Western Washington (GirlScoutsWW.org) is currently seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with youth program experience and demonstrated success managing or supporting volunteers to be our new Program Manager in our Series, Events & Travel (SET) Pathways based in our Seattle office. This individual ensures Girl Scouts can participate in quality programming based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) outside of and in addition to other pathways such as camp or troops. The Program Manager, SET relies on the strength of adult volunteers to formalize, strengthen and expand the Series, Events and Travel Pathways programming opportunities. They will work in close collaboration, as a cross-functional team member within the Series, Events and Travel. Current programming in this department, or pathway, includes summer community day camps, science workshops, Lego robotics and travel opportunities.

Essential Functions:


Primary

• Build collaborations with regional volunteers and organizations to deliver on Girls Scouts of Western Washington Strategic Plan, Program Initiatives, annual initiatives and goals.

• Provide support, direction, programmatic oversight including risk and financial management to regional events, series and council wide programs for girls.

• Recruit as needed, appoint, prepare, support, supervise and evaluate short-term volunteer teams and temporary staff to deliver program to girls.

• Utilize existing resources and actively collaborate with other departments to design and influence a management system to support, retain and reengage increasing volumes of Series, Events and Travel volunteers by assessing gaps in support and developing tools and regional resources as appropriate.

• Responsible for supporting volunteers via orientations and networking opportunities focused on program, pathway, region and/or age-level groupings within the Series, Event and Travel Pathways.

• Develop, manage, evaluate and expand replicable and scalable programs within the Series, Events and Travel Pathways that are financially sustainable and encourage girls in grades K -12th to participate in all Girl Scout Pathways and the Girl Scout Cookie program

• Develop and manage assigned program budgets and assist with the identification and cultivation of potential funding sources for programming. Forecast participation levels and develop fee structures as appropriate to offset program costs.

• Maintain and analyze statistical information for assigned programs and develop reports as required.

• Evaluate and adapt programs as necessary to meet the changing needs of girls.

• Design curricula as needed, grounded in age-appropriate developmental research that supports girl-driven program and builds girls' leadership skills.

• Work in collaboration with the Travel Pathways Committee, Travel Program Manager and Troop Pathways team to provide necessary resources and support for national and international Girl Scout travel opportunities.

• In alignment with the Travel Pathways multi-year plans, research and design council-wide travel offerings for girls in grades 6th -12th.

Secondary

• Work collaboratively with SET Department as part of project teams to develop infrastructure and increase departmental capacity to sustainably expand the Series, Event and Travel Pathways across program initiatives and program offerings

• Negotiate program agreements with vendors and outside agencies.

• Develop and implement marketing strategies with MarComm, Community Development and Troop Pathways to ensure maximum participation in available programs.

• Support activities that promote the council's commitment to reach every girl, everywhere through the development, implementation and support of programs and annual plans that attract and grow participation of underserved populations and are accessible to all racial/ethnic groups, underserved and not-served populations.

• Demonstrated and operational knowledge of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, the National Program Portfolio and Girl Scouts of Western Washington policies, procedures, business processes, technology systems and risk management protocols

• Support and strengthen community partnerships with local United Ways, corporate and individual donors, foundations and Service Units, as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned and approved by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education and work experience.

• Minimum two years' experience successfully managing or supporting volunteers in direct or indirect program delivery

• Knowledge of youth development strongly preferred; knowledge of Girl Scout program helpful.

• Excellent customer experience/service skills.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills necessary to ensure effective interactions with individuals at all levels and backgrounds.

• Skilled in designing and implementing replicable and scalable programming that makes use of different delivery systems, age-appropriate progression, and community cultivation to target different populations across extensive geography.

• Experience in development and administration of budgets, work plans, and program evaluation.

• Previous work experience utilizing conflict resolution skills.

• Previous supervisory experience preferred.

• Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams.

• Demonstrated commitment to support and enhance the diversity and cultural and global awareness of girls and staff.

• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative and maintain confidentiality.

• Proficiency using Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new technologies.

• Availability to work varied hours including some nights and weekends as necessary.

• Valid Washington State driver's license, vehicle in working condition, proof of insurance or the ability to fulfill timely travel requirements across widespread regional geography.

• Maintain membership in Girl Scouts of the United States of America
