The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking experienced Arts Directors to develop, direct, and coordinate all aspects of youth and adult arts programming at our Morgan (Tacoma) and Lakewood branches. The positions provide leadership to extensive dance programs; youth dance companies, arts staff, and program volunteers. Additional responsibilities include Strong Kids sustaining campaign, budget, annual performing arts productions and visual arts exhibitions. These are full time positions with a starting range of $33,000-$41,000 annually depending on experience, plus excellent benefits. The postings close on June 17th. Key Result Areas:
• Provide leadership for arts programming to include but not limited to dance, musical theatre, music, culinary arts and visual arts.
• Lead development of arts programming, budget, scheduling and curriculum.
• Recruitment and develop arts staff and volunteers.
• Direct and produce annual dance recitals and Y Arts Week events.
• Understand the YMCA's mission, goals, objectives, and programs to better relay this information to members and build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.
• Model our YMCA values through fun, positive relationships with staff and members. Seek every opportunity to encourage, motivate, and thank fellow staff members for their work.
• Be enthusiastic towards members by learning their names and expressing an interest in their YMCA activities. Strive to enrich their YMCA experience by introducing them to new programs, staff, members, and volunteer activities.
• Perform responsibilities of the Leadership Team including; building supervisor shifts, active participation in staff meetings, branch events, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in the Strong Kids annual fundraising campaign by telling the YMCA story, by recruiting, leading and supervising volunteers, and securing charitable donations.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and two years related experience (or equivalent knowledge and experience).
• The demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, excellent interpersonal and team building skills, and a heart for the YMCA Mission.
• Extensive dance education and ability to teach participants of all levels and ages effectively.
• Comprehensive theatrical production experience.
• Appreciation and passion for visual and performing arts.
• The ability to listen and demonstrate a friendly, courteous and professional manner in dealing with members/general public and the ability to understand, articulate, and enforce YMCA policies and procedures in a positive manner.
• New employee engagement trainings, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen Administration certification or ability to acquire certifications within the first 90 days of employment.
