Cocoon House is hiring Overnight Operations Staff at Cocoon Complex, our transitional living facility located in Everett. Overnight Operations staff maintain the security of the residents and facility during their awake overnight shifts. Other duties include maintaining client and facility log notes, cleaning tasks, and data entry tasks. This benefitted position is 24 hours a week with the following schedule:


Friday 12am - 8am (shift starts Thursday night, ends Friday morning)

Sunday 12am - 8am (shift starts Saturday night, ends Sunday morning)

Monday 12am - 8am (shift starts Sunday night, ends Monday morning)


Staff with less than 40 regularly scheduled hours are eligible for on-call work based on staff availability and agency need (up to 40 hours a week total).


General Responsibilities:


• Provide a safe and supportive environment for teens in care, including but not limited to promoting positive interaction; providing life skills, social skills and enrichment activities.

• Provide information, referrals and support to community on phone.

• Perform regular bed checks.

• Assist youth in following schedules and morning routine.

• Track and dispense medications.

• Track and record information on appropriate forms and logs.

• To provide office clerical support as assigned.


Required skills, knowledge and abilities:


• Must be able to meet DSHS licensing criteria (pass a criminal history background check, be over 21 years of age, etc.).

• Must have or obtain food handlers card, TB test, CPR/First Aid certification, and HIV/AIDS Certification.

• Experience working with at-risk youth or in residential settings preferred.

• Familiarity with local services and how to access them.

• Ability to use verbal de-escalation techniques.

• Ability to assess situations and gather pertinent information.

• Ability to communicate critical information by telephone and in writing.

• Ability to assess dangerous situations and access emergency services.

• Ability to relate with youth and staff.

• Ability to maintain boundaries with youth.

• Ability to run up and down stairs in case of emergency.

• Ability to assess and prioritize youth needs.

• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
