Friends of Youth serves Foster Youth throughout Seattle and all of King County. Our program is top notch, we fully support our foster families with training, counseling, a master's level case manager and experienced case aides. We have a need for new and experienced foster parents -- ask us how to get licensed. We also served immigrant and refugee youth who are in the process of obtaining refugee status. Are you bilingual or have you considered taking in a foreign exchange student? This would be a great way to serve that desire!
We have an agency owned home on the Eastside available for Therapeutic Foster Parent(s) to live in while parenting our kids. The foster parent(s) will be able to live rent and utility free while taking in BRS kids -- those with some history of abuse or severe neglect. Being comfortable working in a team environment and handling medication logs for the kids is a plus.
Already a foster parent but longing for more support? Friends of Youth has the reputation for taking unbelievable care of our foster families -- and we want you to join us!
To be a foster parent you can be single, married, partnered . . . live in a house, apartment, or condo. The basic requirements for foster care include requiring a spare bedroom for the foster child, some income apart from foster care, and patience. A flexible work schedule is also helpful. Please inquire about the possibilities.
