Outpatient Co-Occurring Program Therapist

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide comprehensive and culturally responsive treatment for adolescents with substance use disorders and a co-occurring condition and assist with administration and marketing tasks as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide individual utilizing a CBT based model in accordance with the clinic's treatment model and manual.
2. Perform Substance Use assessments and create treatment recommendations following an ASAM approved format utilized by the clinic.
3. Participate in mental health assessments and treatment planning in collaboration with psychiatry.
4. Collaborate with schools and other systems involved with the client according to the clinical need.
5. Work with client families at least monthly during acute treatment, assisting the families in providing appropriate monitoring, adjust the changes inherent in an adolescent's recovery and helping the family alter ongoing problematic behavior/relational patterns that increase the adolescent's risk of substance use, depression or anxiety.
6. Write treatment notes, managed care documentation, reports and summaries as necessary.
7. Maintain case records in accordance with licensing, accreditation and agency requirements.
8. Develop working relationships with potential referral services.
9. Maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries with clients, families, co-workers and community resources.
10. Maintain all necessary credentials per agency and licensing requirements.
11. May oversee / provide clinical supervision of out patient staff and student interns
12. Attend staff meetings as required.
13. Perform related work as assigned.
14. Assist with and/or take responsibility for necessary administrative details including but not limited to maintaining urine screening and other clinic supplies and coordinating with insurance and scheduling as assigned.
15. Perform or assist with marketing to new potential referral sources as assigned.
16. Demonstrates a high degree of skill in communication and positive interaction with all Ryther employees, prospective employees, external agencies/companies, and the community at large.
17. Perform all other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Commitment to the Vision and Mission of the agency.
2. Acceptance of a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, cultural and spiritual practices.
3. Interest in working with adolescents with substance use and co-occurring disorders. CDP preferred.
4. State licensure as a Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor or Marriage and Family therapist REQUIRED.
5. Minimum of two years experience working with children and youth.
6. Knowledge and understanding of CBT, MET principles, family therapy principals and substance abuse treatment or a willingness to learn.
7. Skills in clinical assessment and treatment or willingness to learn.
8. An interest in an entrepreneurial practice opportunity with a willingness to develop management and administrative skill.
9. Ability and willingness to collaborate with multiple systems, in-house and external.
10. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain both client and employee confidentiality.
11. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
