POSITION TITLE: Program Manager

PURPOSE: To assist with the development and administration of high quality services to all adolescents in care; provide orientation, supervision, and evaluation of Child Care Staff.

REPORTS TO: Director

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Encourage the spirit of teamwork, hospitality, confidentiality, and organization within the flow of the office and programs of New Vision Programs.
2. Coordinate all aspects of life in the group home.
3. Ensure that the residents complete daily personal care routines.
4. Review medical needs of residents; schedule appointments with medical providers as needed.
5. Monitor food preparation, ensuring that meals are properly prepared in accordance with
established standards.
6. Order food and other supplies as needed on a regular basis.
8. Implement behavior programs.
9. Responsible for overall administration of resident programs, which are planned and
implemented to meet individual needs and goals of clients.
10. Assist with selecting and hiring new employees according to all New Vision Programs Policy & Procedures.
11. Assist with employee evaluations.
12. Train and assure fire drills are run on each shift on a monthly basis.
13. Direct and supervise all activities of direct care staff.
14. Schedule training sessions for staff; conduct staff meetings regularly.
15. Instruct, assign, review and plan work for employees.
16. Coordinate activities of both staff and employees.
17. Maintain and reconcile petty cash fund accurately.
18. Establish and maintain a positive home environment for adolescents in care.
19. Work closely with Case Manager, outside consultant, community based education, mental health, medical, and dental providers to assure cooperative approach to meeting the needs of New Vision Programs clients.
20. Develop and maintain working relationship with outside agencies and service providers.
21. Be accessible to all adolescents in care at New Vision Programs residential program, acting as a positive figure to discuss problems and issues.
22. Provide daily supervision to Child Care Staff, and on-call Staff including coordinating work assignments and schedules; implementation of Individualized Behavior Management Plans, Progress Notes, client activities. With program director, plan and secure staff training (mandatory and elective). Write and conduct evaluations for assigned staff.
23. Collect and utilize information regarding community resources and to work effectively with such resources to obtain services for adolescents in care.
24. Present and advocate for New Vision Programs residential program by conducing regular community presentations.
25. Identify and seek resources (financial and in-kind) for New Vision Programs residential program.
26. Provide supervision for all program volunteers including approving application, assignments, training, and evaluation.
27. Ensure the implementation of the "team approach" by scheduling and conducting regular staff meetings as well as participating in and/or attending all staff meetings
28. Transport adolescents in care for services as needed including scheduled and unscheduled appointments.
30. Receive, review, process, file and submit a variety of documents and reports (e.g. personnel
information, visitation/contact sheets, goals, progress notes, daily data collection sheets, etc).
31. Able to be on-call (via pager) 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to assist staff with emergency situations.
32. Oversee overall cleanliness of facility and environment.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) degree in social science
Computer Skills
Must have word processing (MS Word) and email usage skills.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
1. Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse ethnicity, socio-economic circumstances, religion, culture and sexual orientation with dignity and respect..
2. Demonstrated understanding of appropriate activities for physically, intellectually and emotionally and developmentally challenged adolescent youth.
3. Demonstrated ability to develop effective case plans, timely case notes and maintain accurate written records.
4. Supervisory skills: Ability to manage people and develop productive teams while keeping moral high.
5. Demonstrated ability develop and maintain partnerships with community resources and service providers to ensure organizational efficiency and service excellence.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Position requires personal transportation a valid drivers license and a clear driving record permitting coverage under corporate liability policy.
2. Must be certified to administer medication; CPR/First Aid Certification.
3. Must pass a criminal history check.
