About COLAGE: Founded in 1990, COLAGE is a national movement of children, youth and adults with one or more lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer parent(s). We build community and work toward social justice through youth empowerment, leadership development, education and advocacy. The organization is undergoing a transition and is in the process of developing a strategic plan to determine what its future might look like. Position Description:
The primary duty of the Development/Administrative is to support overall organizational and programmatic operations.
Responsibilities Include:
Development support:
Serve as administrator of the donor database (data entry, reports, etc.) to ensure accurate donor records and integrity of the data, keep abreast of necessary database updates, complete trainings as needed, and help train staff on effective and efficient use of the database.
Process gifts and ensure coordination with the bookkeeper (complete deposit forms, accounting for checks, cash, credit card and online donations).
Prepare and produce development reports
Track and acknowledge donations, including thank you letters, donor listings, and other donor recognition activities
• Provide logistical support for fundraising events.
Coordinate mailings and communications, including preparing data and lists, mail merges for various appeals, as well as office correspondence
Assemble materials related to institutional (foundation or corporate) and individual funders
Conduct prospect research
Administrative coordination:
• Answer phones, respond to general phone and email inquiries
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail
• File, scan documents, run local errands
• Send routine office correspondence as assigned by director
• Make arrangements for staff meetings, facilitate staff communications
Communications and Social Media:
•Update website regularly
•Develop and implement social media strategy using facebook, twitter, tumblr, etc.
•Write and distribute enewsletters
Database/Computer/Information Technology support:
• Enter or update contact and other information in organizational database
• Monitor technology and arrange for computer consultation as needed or directed
Financial support:
• Maintain income and expense records in Quickbooks
Program support:
• Fulfill Information and Referral requests on an ongoing basis
• Gather and report project statistics
• Support program staff
Special Event support:
• Support director, board and staff with special program and fundraising events including:

Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
• Commitment to the mission and work of COLAGE

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce or other donor database, wordpress
• Experience with social media communications
• Excellent typing and data entry skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Have exemplary organizational skills, be detail oriented with an ability to manage multiple tasks
• Must be able to prioritize workload, to meet deadlines, and exhibit a high degree of responsibility, accountability, and confidentiality
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work from home
