POSITION SUMMARY: Work on a daily basis building relationships with adult volunteers and parents in the Group Program. Develop and implement strategies to achieve Group Program membership goals in consultation with the Director of Programs and Community Outreach. Evenings and weekends required, so must be able to work a flexible schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers and group members.
• Collaborate with community agencies for member recruitment.
• Meet Group Program participation goals in assigned geographic area.
• Plan event calendar for geographic service area with volunteers.
• Support Group Program event committees and product sale volunteers.
• Support Site Directors as needed to facilitate a successful Day Camp experience.
• Staff youth events to insure compliance with Council safety standards.
• Identify older youth to participate in opportunities for service learning.
• Advise older youth working to earn the Wohelo Award.
• Help to create a positive work environment for all.
• Other duties as assigned.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Support Camp Fire USA Central Puget Sound Council, its staff, and volunteers both internally and in the community to achieve Council goals.
JOB SCOPE:
• Recruit and select volunteers.
• Promote Camp Fire throughout the community.
• Handle registration fees and product sale funds.
• Ensure volunteers do not put program participants in unsafe situations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise volunteers.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS
Work as a team with Group Program Department staff and the Director of Programs and Community Outreach. Support volunteers, program participants, and staff in a patient and helpful manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Well organized and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid Washington driver's license and insured vehicle.
• Willing to travel within Council service area for meetings and events.
• Knowledge of and experience with Camp Fire USA is highly desired.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, including keyboarding and mouse use; reach with hands and arms; speak and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment will include the Camp Fire office, outdoors at program locations including Camp Sealth on Vashon Islandand driving a company van or personal vehicle for local travel. Some evenings and weekends will be required.
