CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
SALARY GRADE: 8
SUPERVISES: 0
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Computer Lab Assistant supports lab users with basic computer questions and lab maintenance; provides participants with other community information, referrals and resources. Improves access to technology for underserved communities, provides computer literacy skills and improves employment opportunities for low income, unemployed or underemployed clients; provides educational activities for low-income youth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists computer lab users with questions regarding applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Provides lab users with information and referrals to community resources and programs
• Assists with outreach and volunteer recruitment
• Assists in building community partnerships Manages software updates, permissions and troubleshooting technical issues
• Administers surveys and needs assessments of participants
• Supervises volunteer and lab staff, in conjunction with NSFC staff
• Coordinates scheduling of volunteer lab monitor shifts
• Reports, Record keeping, and data entry
• Some evening or weekend work required
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• HS Diploma/GED
• Proficient in MS Windows, Office Suite and Outlook.
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Working knowledge of computers
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of North-end community resources, preferred
