Youth Advocate


Hours: Work statement based on an average of 40 hours per week
Supervisor: Outreach Services Manager
Status: Non-Exempt

Job Description:
The Youth Advocate position provides effective and efficient advocacy and case management services to eligible youth. They are to form and maintain healthy, friendly, and professional relationships with youth.

Responsibilities:
 Maintain order and ensure safety during weekly morning and three (3) evening Drop-In shifts per month
 Complete and maintain all records and documents in a timely manner
 Provide crisis intervention and visitation services, when necessary, out in the field
 Provide outreach on the streets to youth
 Provide follow-up with youth
 Refer young people to "in-house" programs
 Staff one (1) Life Discovery Event per month
 Interface with related community programs

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
 Skills to provide outreach service to target population
 Experience with at-risk youth and related service agencies required
 Demonstrated ability to perform job responsibilities
 BA in a related field required (experience in lieu of education accepted)
 Team oriented with good interpersonal skills
 Proficient within the PC environment -- Word and Outlook

Salary: Annual $28,000+ DOE
