Resident Services Coordinator (Imagine Housing)

Imagine Housing is hiring for a fulltime Resident Services Coordinator. The Resident Services Coordinator will develop and implement programs that serve children, adults and seniors living in a variety of Imagine Housing's properties. The two main areas that the Resident Services Coordinator will coordinate will be:
1) After School Programming: The Resident Services Coordinator will offer Homework Club and KidsOnly Club at 2-3 properties in Issaquah. Homework Club takes place two to three times per week and offers the children the opportunity to have one-on-one assistance with homework assignments, reading and learning activities to address their particular areas of need. KidsOnly Club is a time dedicated to engaging children in fun, active and age-appropriate games and activities. The Resident Services Coordinator will use a curriculum that promotes exercise, creativity, problem solving, teamwork, and effective communication and helps children develop appropriate behavioral and social skills.
Summer Camps: The Resident Services Coordinator will provide children and youth with day-time supervision and themed activities that explore broad subject matters in an in-depth and interactivive way. Camps offer participants healthy food, nutritional education, physical activities, positive adult mentorship, leadership opportunities, and help increase self-confidence and self-esteem.
2) Adult Programming: The Resident Services Coordinator will assist in supporting our residents in leading stable and healthy lives. This includes referrals to resources for rental assistance, health coverage, mental healthcare, dental health options, and utility assistance. The Resident Services Coordinator will provide trainings (or invite outside providers to) on a variety of topics including emergency preparedness, healthy cooking, healthy relationships, and financial stability.

Key Responsibilities
Resource Referrals
• Reach out to individuals and families to make them aware of what services are available;
• Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with service providers in the community to which residents can be referred;
• Help residents complete applications for public benefits, as appropriate; and
• Maintain thorough and complete records of residents' participation in supportive services and progress.
Community Building and Educational Opportunities
• Facilitate and coordinate supportive activities for residents with other program staff and partnering service providers including: employment assistance activities, such as job readiness training, resume preparation, interview practice, attending job fairs and networking with perspective employers; budgeting and money management training; health and wellness education, etc.
Youth Programming
• Run Homework Clubs and KidsOnly Club at Imagine Housing properties;
• Utilize and improve the curriculum for children's activities;
• Develop and run summer camps at Imagine Housing properties;
• Assist in developing early childhood programming for young children (ages 0-5) and their parents;
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers that assist with youth programming; and
• Complete outcome tracking observation tool for all participating youth in programming.
Reporting
• Track and record data on residents' participation in supportive services, progress on their service plans and goals, and impact of supportive services on residents;
• Participate in annual evaluation of the resident services program and implement needed improvements;
• Provide needed documentation for reports to program funders on a timely manner basis; and
• Complete database reporting, as required.
Other Responsibilities
• Attend weekly team meetings with the Lead Resident Services Coordinator;
• Attend team meetings with the Director of Supportive Services every other week;
• Supervise volunteers to offer activities and prepare community activities, as necessary;
• Assist in identifying trainings needed to be effective as a Resident Services Coordinator;
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule; and
• Perform other assigned duties in a timely and efficient matter.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
• Ability to work effectively with children, individuals, and families of diverse backgrounds and disabilities including physical, mental, substance abuse, and HIV/AIDS;
• Outstanding organizational, verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to perform daily duties to achieve excepted outcomes and performance measures with minimal supervision;
• Knowledge of family and child resources and services in King County for homeless families,
particularly families in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction;
• Ability to set and maintain boundaries with clients in a professional manner;
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff and clients from a variety of
economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, with varying physical and mental abilities, and with different sexual orientations;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Ability to make good decisions without regular on-site supervision; and
• Strong time management and organizational skills and competency in use of
personal computer, especially for word processing and generation of statistical
information.
Minimum Requirements
• BA degree or Associates Degree with 5 years of work experience in related field;
• A minimum of two years of experience working with children;
• Conversational Spanish is required; fluency in verbal and written Spanish is preferred.
• Experience working with people experiencing mental health issues, chemical health issues and homelessness; and
• Valid Washington State Driver's License.
Work Schedule
The Resident Services Coordinator position is a full-time hourly (non-exempt) position. This position works Monday through Friday. The work day will be between the hours of 9:30 am and 6 pm plus two evenings until 8pm each week, with start times adjusted accordingly. Some weekend work will be necessary. Regular daily (work week) presence is required.
