THE ORGANIZATION:
Imagine Housing is a 501(c)(3) Washington non-profit corporation incorporated in 1989. Our mission is to develop, own and manage housing with supportive services for people in financial need on King County’s Eastside.
We support residents’ efforts to develop greater choice and independence. A sixteen-member Board of Directors oversees Imagine Housing and is very active in the life of the organization.

PURPOSE:
This part-time position provides general accounting for the organization. This position reports to the Director of Finance.

MAJOR DUTIES:

General

Accounting
  1. Complete monthly bank reconciliations for 30+ accounts
  2. Assist the Accountant in building and maintaining Excel spreadsheets to track multiple budgets and bank accounts
  3. Prepare bank deposits in a timely manner
  4. Pay organizational bills in a timely manner
  5. Input financial data provided by property management company into financial accounting software
  6. Liaison with property management company regarding financial accounting matters for multiple properties
  7. Prepare cash flow analysis and projections on a monthly basis
  8. Maintain fixed asset records, including calculation of depreciation
  9. Assist the Accountant in the preparation of quarterly variance reports presented to the Board of Directors
  10. Prepare financial reports and other filing required by funding agencies, and federal, state and local authorities (including compliance reports and Form 1099)
11. Maintain and update the internal monitoring schedule of reporting requirements
12. Prepare materials needed for annual audits conducted by outside auditor
13. Update the debt schedule and prepare debt confirmation
14. Perform year end reconciliations
15. Provide accounting and financial reports and support to other departments of the organization
16. Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned
17. Maintain petty cash accounts as needed

Payroll

  1. Calculate and input semi-monthly payroll information for hourly and salaried employees to the payroll company on a timely basis
  2. Calculate and make payments of all associated payroll costs (benefit plan premiums)
  3. Maintain & administer employee benefit offerings
  4. Prepare quarterly tax forms related to payroll (L & I)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND

ABILITIES REQUIRED:**
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  2. Accounting experience preferred.
  3. The successful candidate should have excellent computer skills, especially in Excel and other MS Office applications; exceptional problem solving abilities and good organizational skills. Ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing.
  4. The ideal candidate will be a self starter who is reliable, dependable, has the ability to exercise good judgment and work collaboratively in a team environment. This person will be able to work independently yet be willing to seek out guidance and review of their work. This person will be articulate, resourceful, easy to work with, and able to juggle many tasks under pressure
    and with frequent interruptions.

SCHEDULE:

Position is a part-time (20 - 25 hours per week), hourly, non-exempt position. Hours worked will be weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or at a mutually agreed-upon schedule. Overtime, evening and/or weekend work may also be required.
