The YSPP King County Suicide Prevention Trainer will work with the Director of Training to provide suicide prevention training for schools, youth and parent groups and community based agencies across King County. Skills needed include community outreach, public speaking, data collection, and writing county reports. Experience in suicide training required.

-Facilitate awareness education presentations for community members, community-based organizations and/or businesses on suicide prevention.
-Provide ASIST and SafeTALK trainings in the Puget Sound area.
-Provide and collect evaluation forms for all County Mental Health activities and prepare quarterly reports for funds.
-Provide Technical Assistance to the County Mental Health schools and Community Organizations to include development of prevention, intervention and postvention strategies enhancement of crisis response plans; this includes reviewing and scoring (according to YSPP criteria) plan and submitting scores.
-Be the YSPP spokesperson for all County Mental Health funding and ensure YSPP is meeting goals.
-Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers from the Teen Link program at the Crisis Clinic.
-Report minutes of collaboration meeting with Teen Link with particular attention to coordinating efforts, success and challenges that both Organizations are dealing with.
-Provide support to schools interested in continuing their peer to peer suicide prevention efforts.
-Document efforts to engage districts/schools in the suicide prevention process. (Phone calls, emails, meetings, etc.)
-Work with the Director of Training to ensure that all work is entered in YSPP and King County Data bases.
-Provide a monthly written report to the Executive Director on all activities in King County as pertaining to County Mental Health system.
-Additional duties as required

MA in Social Work or Psychology, Higher Education or a related field 2 years as a trainer in prevention. (Experience can substitute for education on the BA level. Certification in ASIST and other forms of suicide prevention training highly preferred.

Job is full-time with salary and benefits.
