Description


Summary
The primary responsibilities of the Development Coordinator is to perform a variety of tasks related to corporate, foundations and individual giving, including managing relationships with current and prospective donors, and researching ways to bring in additional funds.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Development Coordination (80%)
Analyze appeal campaign performances and provide feedback to increase prospect to donor conversions.
Conduct research, analyze data and compile reports on current or prospective donors.
Manage donor lists and preparing mailing materials like invitations, solicitations and newsletters.
Track philanthropic requests, pledges and contributions.
Update donor database and respond to member queries and approachn benefactors with strategic appeals.
Work with staff accountant to ensure consistency between the donor database and accounting system.

Grant Writing (20%)
Assist Development Director in researching, writing, and securing grants ($5K - $25K) and sponsorships aligned with TAF’s strategic plan to meet or exceed fundraising goals.
Work with key grant stakeholders (internal/external) to submit final and annual reports to foundations and corporations.

Qualifications
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary or cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience in group presentations and public speaking.
  • Experience securing grants and sponsorships.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • High-level of initiative and motivation in addition to the ability to deal with confidential information.
  • Must be flexible and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, when necessary.
  • Possess excellent time management and strong analytical skills.
Education & Experiences
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and interest.
  • Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to perform basic to moderate data entry functions.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, or equivalent work experience.
  • Fluency in English
  • Moderate to high proficiency and or aptitude in Microsoft Operating System; MS Word; MS Excel; MS PowerPoint; MS Outlook. Cursory knowledge using Dropbox, SharePoint and Google Doc is a plus.
