Youth Ministry Internships- Summer and School Year (Issaquah)

Faith Church in Issaquah is looking for an intern for this coming Summer and another for the 2012-2013 school year. Faith is a United Methodist Church located on the boarder of Sammamish and Issaquah at 3924 Issaquah Pine Lake Rd. Issaquah, WA 98029.

Big House Youth Ministries is an exciting place for youth to make friends, have fun, create great relationships and experience personal growth. Our ministry of students, Middle School and High School, strive to be relevant in today's culture and are passionate about loving God, connecting with people and helping serve God in the world around us.


About the internships: This is a unique internship that will be tailored to the intern's interests and career goals. Weekly meetings and responsibilities will be designed to help the intern grow personally and professionally. The Intern will learn to use the gifts God gave them to serve a community and help others to grow spiritually.


Salary Package: A monthly stipend depending on experience, qualifications and availability.

Summer Internship Details:


Qualifications:

- Be a mature Christian, pursuing God

- A desire to work with teens and support others in their faith

- Must be 20 years of age or have completed freshmen in college.

- Must be available to work roughly 35-40 hours per week.

Job Description:

- Be able, willing and ready to lead devotions, small groups, Sunday school, and/or Bible studies.

- Help plan, organize and oversee events.

- Assist in Office Duties (i.e. Emails, organization, filing, updating data base, etc.)

- Give devotion/talks for 3-5th grade VBS program

- Organize and lead a service project

- Meet regularly with youth director


Time Frame: Intern must be available to work 9 to 10 weeks. Preferably you would start the beginning/mid of June and work till about mid/late August. There is a 2 week time frame flexibility. Make sure to let us know when applying what is the earliest date you can start and the latest date you can finish. We are flexible on start and end dates.


Hours: You will work up to 40 hours a week with a minimum requirement of 25 hours a week. The mandatory hours will be Sundays (7:30-12), Mondays (8-3pm), Wednesdays (12-7). Other hours will depend on events that week and administrative hours necessary.


School Year Internship Details:

Job Description:

- Help and learn to prepare, plan and execute lessons for small groups, Sunday school, and youth group.

- Help plan, organize and oversee events.

- Assist in Office Duties (i.e. Emails, organization, filing, updating data base, etc.)

- Assist/lead Sunday School and attend church service (8 -- 12pm)

- Assist/lead Youth Group on Sunday evenings (2-6pm)

- Assist/lead La Mesa dinner and bible study on Wednesday evenings (5:30 -- 8pm)

- Meet with the Youth Director once a week to go over planning (1 hour)


Time Commitment: Beginning in late September through May/June working on average 12-15 hours per week. These dates are flexible because we want the best individual for the job.
