MALE Teaching Assistant for children & adults with disabilities (Edmonds & Bothell)

NEEDED: Compassionate, enthusiastic individual (Male) as Assistant to work with children, youth & young adults with Special needs and disabilities in non profit, year round agency. Part Time positions available: 15-25 hours a week. )

We have two sites with positions available:

Edmonds site- working with school aged children and youth with moderate to severe disabilities. Average of 15-25 hour weeks (afternoons-PART TIME).

Bothell- working with young adults (age 21 and up) with moderate to severe disabilities primarily in community รข€"job/volunteer related. ( FULL time Position )

Edmonds: We are looking for people (MALE) who have a great sense of responsibility, an interest in working to make a positive impact in their community and the ability to work independently 1:1 as well as with a team. Our Edmonds program works with 12-13 students who are between 5 yrs & 21 yrs , who have moderate to severe disabilities. You will be a part of the a progressive program that creates opportunities for personal grown & success for these students as well as building relationships with the public through field trips and vocational/volunteer work with the students. .

Bothell: We are looking for people (MALE) who have a great sense of responsibility, an interest in working to make a positive impact in their community and the ability to work independently 1:1 as well as with a team. Our Seattle program works with students who are between 19 yrs and up , who have moderate to severe disabilities in an all day program. You will be a part of a progressive program that creates opportunities for personal growth & success for these students as well as building relationships with the public through independent living skills and vocational/volunteer work with the students out in the community as well as some leisure activities.

Job Requirements/Training: Experience and/or education in the field of special education is a plus, however, we will train you. These positions require self-motivation and team spirit. Other important elements are a good work ethic, a strong sense of humor, an ability to work well with other staff and the public, take direction from lead staff, have common sense, a self-initiating/independent nature and willingness & ability to work with people with disabilities. Some trainings will be expected to be completed within 3 months of start date. (i.e., CPR, First Aid, HIV/Aids,¦) The rest, we will teach you. This is a long term position with room for growth.
