Program Information Specialist (Redmond)

Friends of Youth is a not for profit organization committed to the support of youth and young adults in our community. With 60 years of experience, 20 program sites, and national accreditation, we provide safe places and emotional support for youth and families in challenging circumstances. Our services include:


-Residential Services, providing therapeutic residential services, including foster care, to youth under 18;

-Homeless Support Services, providing outreach, overnight shelter, case management, employment and housing for homeless youth and young adults in East King County

-Youth and Family Services, providing counseling, substance abuse treatment, prevention and parenting programs in East King County.


Friends of Youth is currently seeking a Program Information Specialist. The position is located in our Redmond office and will have a range of duties including data collection, entry, analysis, and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail. In addition, the ideal person for this position has initiative and is skilled in multi-tasking and prioritizing.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with benefits (medical and dental insurance, holidays, vacation, and sick leave). The working hours are somewhat flexible but periodically require accommodation around deadlines. Starting compensation depends on experience.


While this position indirectly helps clients, please note that this is in no way a direct service position.


Description :

The Program Information Specialist performs various tasks, including but not limited to: oversight and reporting of client demographic and outcome data to multiple sources such as grant writers, funders and other agency stakeholders; collecting and analyzing data from multiple programs; coordinating agency-wide performance and quality improvement process; and other duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Software proficient (MS Office: Word, Outlook); advanced knowledge of Excel, including advanced formula skills, filtering, sorting, data cleaning, and merging of tables; knowledge of data systems (Salesforce, SharePoint 2010 preferred)

• Proficient in data collection and reporting techniques; be detail oriented, and have strong organizational skills.

• Be skilled in accurate and time-sensitive data entry & reporting; be able to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and meet reporting deadlines.

• Willingness/ability to commute to Redmond (and Totem Lake when the office moves in Fall 2012)

• A bachelor's degree in related field.

• Employees and volunteers who operate their own or Friends of Youth vehicles on Friends of Youth business must have a safe driving record as defined by Friends of Youth

• Education or experience in cultural competency.


Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in database administration (especially Salesforce, SharePoint 2010)

• Nonprofit experience

• Knowledge of King County Homeless Management Information System (SafeHarbors HMIS) preferred.
