We are looking for a high energy, organized, and creative individual to coordinate multiple teen programs on behalf of the Dale Turner Family YMCA. This is a full time, 40 hour a week professional level position. Only candidates with significant experience delivering programming for middle and high school students will be considered. This is a multifaceted role so the ideal candidate is one who possesses skills in multiple areas of youth programming (ex. recreation, leadership, arts, digital media) & someone with experience planning and coordinating teen programs.
The primary program this individual coordinates is the Hang Time after school program at Kellogg middle School. Hang Time offers students the opportunity to finish homework, socialize and participate in diverse activities, all in a safe school environment. The program operates Tues-Thursday from 3-5pm and serves 50-100 teens per day.
At Hang Time, the Teen Program Coordinator is responsible for
• planning the monthly calendar & activities
• recruiting, supervising, and coaching teen and adult volunteers
• facilitating leadership & service learning programs
• collaborating with other youth serving organizations
• marketing program to students and parents
• leading monthly partner meetings
• tracking all relevant data.
In addition, this individual will operate several other leadership and recreation programs for the Dale Turner Family YMCA:
• Y Make Art (Entrepreneurial Art Program at Scriber Lake High School)
• Dale Turner Family YMCA Teen Advisory Board
• Tween and Late Nights
• Teen Quest Summer Program.
• Active participant in the Dale Turner Family YMCA Leadership team, taking part in meetings, events, and other branch and community based tasks.
