You are invited to apply or to refer a qualified candidate for the position of program manager for Kids Co. at JOHN MUIR located in Seattle, Washington. This is an extraordinary opportunity for the child care professional who clearly understands the blend of skills necessary to perform well in a leadership position such as this. This is a full-time (M-F), salaried position. Kids Co. at JOHN MUIR serves school-aged children before- and after-school and during school breaks (i.e., winter, spring, mid-winter, summer, etc.) and a part-day (times) Pre-K program that runs during school hours.
The qualified candidate will:
(1) Be committed to helping the organization continue to set the standard for high quality child care at every level.
(2) Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and will be an innovator in delivering our mission, vision and values to our children, their parents, and the community.
(3) Possess the unique and necessary combination of child development/education, business management and supervisory skills.
(4) Serve in a leadership capacity to promote Kids Co. to the host school, parents and the community at large.
(5) Be able and willing to maintain national accreditation.

Measured competence from the following areas include:
· Ability to maintain program quality at a level that provides for full enrollment.
· Strong and effective management competencies working with individuals and teams.
· Ability to be socially appropriate, adaptable and show professional maturity under pressure.
· Advanced ability to provide overall supervision of staff.
· Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and comprehension).
· Ability to write business correspondence and/or directives and make professional and persuasive presentations to a variety of audiences (i.e., school PTA group, local service groups, etc.).
· Ability to develop and execute center budget.
· Ability to market/promote programs to community and school.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BS/BA in child and youth development, elementary education, or a
related field required. A minimum of 25 credits in Early Childhood Education is mandatory. A minimum of
3 years experience managing school-age care programs and a minimum of 3 years management
experience. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This job requires occasional local
travel and evenings. A valid Washington State driver’s license, personal automobile, and personal liability
insurance are preferred.
