Community Recruitment Coordinator - (Tacoma)

We have an immediate opening for a Community Recruitment Coordinator (CRC) who will be responsible for recruiting adult volunteers and youth participants. This position will have a special focus on Pierce County/Tacoma, the Puyallup Tribe, and the Muckleshoot Tribe.

Job Requirements include:

• Responsible for reaching measurable goals in recruiting adult volunteers and youth participants for mentoring programs, specifically the Native American mentoring program and programs in Pierce County
• Contribute to maintaining and expanding consistent relationships with businesses, community based organizations, social service agencies, and other sources of youth and adult participants.
• Coordinate, schedule, and conduct community recruitment presentations in a variety of forums and create, edit and adjust presentations as appropriate
• Lead and staff recruitment tables at volunteer fairs, community events, and other endeavors throughout the year.
• Collaborate with other service delivery staff to ensure smooth transition among functions.
• Provide timely and comprehensive reports and recommendations.

Qualificatons:

• 1-2 years experience in community organizing, recruiting, marketing, public relations, social & human services or related field.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience working with diverse communities required, experience working with Native American communities preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills both in-person and via the telephone; and high-level presentation skills.
• Experience with youth service organizations preferred.
• Ability to work evening and weekend hours and effectively manage flexible schedule required.
• Familiar with Windows XP software applications.
• Must have access to a reliable automobile; valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
