Program Coordinator - Friends of Youth (Redmond/Bellevue)

Program Coordinator (Redmond/Bellevue): Friends of Youth is a not for profit organization committed to the support of youth and young adults in our community. With 60 years of experience, 20 program sites, and national accreditation, we provide safe places and emotional support for youth and families in challenging circumstances. Our services include:
-Residential Services, providing therapeutic residential services, including foster care, to youth under 18;
-Homeless Support Services, providing outreach, overnight shelter, case management, employment and housing for homeless youth and young adults in East King County
-Youth and Family Services, providing counseling, substance abuse treatment, prevention and parenting programs in East King County.

Friends of Youth is currently seeking a Program Coordinator at The Landing facility.

Description
The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing program development and service delivery at The Landing. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for providing clinical consultation and direction at assigned facilities, case management and aftercare services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a social service related field.
Experience working with adolescents/young adults
Experience working with homeless youth.
Experience supervising staff preferred.
Education or experience in cultural competency.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with Eastside resources.
Understanding normal adolescent development.
Comfortable interacting with youth in informal settings.
Ability to establish and maintain trusting relationships (patience and perseverance.)
Ability to develop appropriate boundaries.
Must demonstrate sensitivity to needs of clients in crisis.
Ability to observe and discuss behavior problems and suggest appropriate alternatives.
Ability to work in a setting that can be highly stressful.
Consistently maintain required paperwork.
Knowledge of relevant COA standards and participation in a Performance and Quality Improvement process
Must have valid Washington State driver's license or be able to obtain one by the employment date.

Employees and volunteers who operate their own or Friends of Youth vehicles on Friends of Youth business must have a safe driving record as defined by Friends of Youth. Employees and volunteers who operate their own vehicles on Friends of Youth business must carry auto liability insurance that complies with the requirements of Friends of Youth.

Must demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences and a commitment to the value of cultural competency.

Hours
4 evenings 8:30pm - 11:30pm, 1 overnight 8:30pm - 8:30am, and 8 additional administrative hours per week.
