Title: Full-time Math and Electives Teacher
Salary: Starting pay for a first year teacher with certification is $32,500, additional pay with education and experience
Working Hours: Full-time (40+ hours per week)

Description: Eastside Academy (www.eastsideacademy.org) is a non-profit, Christian alternative high school (grades 9 -- 12) for highly at-risk youth. Eastside Academy is housed on the campus of First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue and currently serves 35-40 high school students with a teaching staff of four.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement instruction consistent with the school approved curriculum for assigned subject areas using inquiry-based and student centered methods
• Submit quarterly syllabi prior to the start of each quarter
• Promote an effective system of student responsibility and accountability
• Promote a classroom environment that respects the dignity of the student and is perceived by the students as equitable, consistent, and based on clear expectations
• Modify instruction to meet the needs of the students
• Employ a variety of methods and materials that will provide a holistic approach to students' learning academically, spiritually, and emotionally
• Effectively manage classroom by implementing discipline, time management, and organization consistent with school policy
• Participate in ongoing staff development and school functions, including development events, school retreats, and mentor activities.
Qualifications:
• Be a professing Christian and a member of a church or Christian community
• Hold a Bachelor's Degree (required) or a Master's Degree (preferred) from an accredited college or university
• Certified High School teacher in the State of Washington, or working towards certification
• Be able to work and live in harmony with the core values and affirmations of the Eastside Academy
• Demonstrate experience and competence in the requirements for this position, particularly in having experience working with at-risk youth
