FLSA CLASS: Exempt - Professional
FTE STATUS: 1.0 (Full-time -- 40 hrs/week)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent for this position is responsible to: Provide case management and coordinate services for the Supplemental Education Transition Planning Program to serve foster care youth in Region 6; Develop an educational plan in collaboration with the youth and their school; and, Provide information to participants regarding higher education opportunities, e.g., how to apply to college, and how to apply for and obtain financial aid.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The incumbent for this position must possess: A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or closely related field; Two years experience working with at-risk teenagers and/or at-risk young adults (ages 14-23); Community resources networking skills; A familiarity with post secondary educational resources, preferably including experience working within a school setting; Good organizational skills;. A strong commitment and desire to support, motivate, and encourage youth. A sensitivity and responsiveness to the cultural differences in the organization's employment and service population; The ability to pass an extensive background check and maintain a record with no history of conviction or perpetration of child abuse or physical harm to another person; The Ability to pass and maintain a driving records check; and, A current driver license and personal auto insurance levels at or above a $100,000 combined single limit liability (must be provided once offer of employment is accepted). Proof of a negative TB test result, or of non-contagion if showing a positive result, Valid TB test results must be completed within in the previous 12 months prior to hire and must be presented to the Human Resources Department before being allowed to work with participants.
