Child Care Lead & Mini Bus Driver

Part-time, split shift before and after school, hours will vary on non-school days and breaks
Pay Range
$11.00-$12.00 per hour
All applicants must demonstrate a strong desire to work with children, possess a clean driving record and be willing and able to obtain YMCA driver certification.
Qualifications:
-Minimum age 21
-Meet educational and experience qualifications as established by Department of Early Learning (DEL)
-Provide documentation of current negative TB test
-Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred
-First Aid, CPRPRO, AED and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire
-Ability to plan, organize and implement age/developmentally appropriate program activities
-Work and relate effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
-Pre-employment current driver abstract required (available online through Department of Licensing
-3 year driving record)
-Minimum 2 years driving experience
Job Duties/Responsiblities:
-Implement curriculum within the established guidelines
-Design and implement daily lesson/activity plans as directed by site director or in the absence of the site director
-Supervise children, classroom and all activities
-Make ongoing, systmeatic observations and evaluations of each child
-Conduct parent conferences, maintain communication with parents and enge parents as volunteers
-Maintain site and equipment
-Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training
-Completion of YMCA specific training/certifications as directed
-Drive safely according to YMCA policies and procedures and state laws
-Secure occupants/belongings at departures/arrivals
-Complete thorough before-and-after trip checks each day and record all information
-Record gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms
-Clean out vehicle each day
-Promote safety at all times by keeping first aid supplies fully stocked
-Ensure that bus rules are announced and followed
-Communicate regularly with other staff members and supervisor
-Interacting with participants demonstrating the YMCA values
-Completion of YMCA specific training/certifications as directed
Physical Demands:
Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in indoor/outdoor settings. Staff may occasionally lift children who weigh approximately 50 pounds. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise porgram activities. May be required to push or pull large rolling cabinets along linoleum floors with the help of another person on a daily basis, may be required to roll and set up cafeteria tables, may be expected to lift 22 gallon storage boxes.

-Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity
