Youth Center Attendant - YMCA (SeaTac WA)

Youth Center Attendant - YMCA (SeaTac WA): Exciting PART-TIME employment opportunity! 18 hours per week to start.

Job Title: Youth Center Attendant
Location: Matt Griffin YMCA
Status: Part-time, starts at 18 hours per week.
Schedule: Hours will vary but will most likely include Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 3:45 - 8:15 pm and Saturdays from 11:45 - 4:15 pm. Mandatory staff meetings take place twice monthly on Thursdays from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Late Night programming takes place once per month on Fridays from 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

GENERAL FUNCTION
Oversees the safety of recreation activities in drop-in Youth Development Center (serving youth ages 10 - 18). Plans and leads structured activities on a daily basis.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. 21 years of age or older
2. Experience with working with tweens and teens (middle and high school age)
3. Ability to learn and follow safety rules for program and building policies
4. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
5. Ability to setup, move, and store equipment
6. Ability to develop and lead a variety of activities for youth
7. Current state approved first aid certification preferred*
8. Current state approved CPR certification preferred*
9. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
10. Ability to speak any language in addition to English highly desired
* Ability to obtain certification within thirty days of employment or at first available training is acceptable.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
1. Develops and leads the activities of youth in the Youth Development Center
2. Sets up, takes down and cares for equipment in the Center
2. Enforces safety rules and guidelines throughout the facility
3. Logs Youth Development Center attendance
4. Answers parents and teens' questions
5. Attends staff meetings and required trainings
6. With teammates, oversees Teen and Tween Late Night activities on a monthly basis
7. Supports the Leadership Development team with other projects and duties as assigned
