Metrocenter is recruiting a staff person who will provide leadership to Metrocenter’s education, employment and technology programs and will lead the charge to expand our work into South King County.
The position is currently titled Metrocenter Regional Education/Technology/Employment Director – see the description below. It is rated Grade M, with a starting range from $41,928-$52,410. Closing date for application is January 23.
GENERAL FUNCTION
Oversee Metrocenter employment, education and technology programs, collaborate with central and south county YMCA branches to coordinate current and expanded outreach and programming serving teens and young adults.
KNOW HOW
Bachelor's degree in program area or related field or equivalent education/experience. Four or more years of related experience including staff and volunteer supervision, community program development, financial management and fund raising
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
• Develop and maintain relationships with thought leaders and funders in the area of youth employment, technology training and education.
• Maintain current knowledge of best practices in field.
• Manage City and County WIA and SYVPI contracts, and emergency housing contract with Solid Ground.
• Ensure that Tech Programs contracts are managed effectively.
• Write funding proposals to renew contracts.
• Manage income and expense for budget of approximately $750K.
• Supervise staff of Metrocenter Employment, Education and Technology programs, ensuring they are supported to succeed in their roles, and are preparing for career advancement.
• Ensure that all YMCA policies are met, paying particular attention to child abuse prevention and risk management.
• Coordinate Metrocenter Employment and Education programs with those of Downtown YMCA. Ensure efficient use of staff and financial resources between programs.
• Identify funding and pursue new funding opportunities for Metrocenter, Downtown and South County.
• Develop and implement a plan (in conjunction with South County Y leaders) to further YMCA knowledge of assets/needs in South King County.
• Working with South County Y staff leadership, ensure coordination of planning, outreach and YMCA service delivery.
• Participate as a key member of the Metrocenter leadership team, taking on branch responsibilities including supporting Metrocenter Board committees, Partners With Youth campaign and other cross-program responsibilities.
• Participate as a key member of Association-wide efforts.
