Currently we are looking for consultants who can perform the following tasks:
• Research and identify funding sources, provide hands-on grant writing training, structure resource development plan, and review and edit funding, LOIs, and review and edit proposal drafts on short notice.
• Conduct environmental assessment and complete strategic positioning initiative with the Board of Directors and staff.
• Conduct Board development and recruitment training, and help conduct outreach to, and recruit key community stakeholders.
• Create partnerships with mainstream agencies through potential board members and fiscal agents.
• Assist with developing efficient leadership, management, and accountability structures that would provide the agency with effective services to refugees.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with ECBOs, keep abreast of issues and activities which could affect the goals and objectives of the agency and provide constructive feedback.
Terms of Understanding
The term of this Contract is for FY 2012 project period, which, for the purpose of this project, is from November 28, 2011 through September 29, 2012.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in related fields, (advanced degree preferable), plus at least 8 years experience.
• Community mobilization, coalition building, facilitation and leadership skills a must
• Knowledge of refugees and refugee services
• Cultural competency skills with knowledge of African cultures
• Excellent oral and written communication skills--Somali, Swahili, Arabic, or French language skills would also be an advantage.
• Experience in proposal development/grant writing, program management and training
• Demonstrated computer skills
• Experience with non-profit management
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
