Child and Family Couseling Program Manager (Vancouver): Child and Family Counseling Clinical Program Manager - Vancouver, Washington

Children's Home Society of Washington in Vancouver seeks an experienced clinical program manager for a comprehensive child and family counseling program who will focus on effectively coordinating a strong counseling team to provide direct children's behavioral health counseling services based on strong family support principles. We are looking for an innovative leader with experience in clinical supervision, implementation of evidence based practices, the ability to meet Medicaid compliance regulations, and program innovation with strong outcomes.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages the operations of a CHSW program or department. Provides services to consumer population and ensures effective utilization of staff personnel and monitors program/department performance. Conducts community liaison to facilitate changes and influences quality of client care. Manages the operations of a clinical and therapeutic CHSW program, including all clinical activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides leadership, direction, and supervision to program/department staff
• Ensures that all records and statistics are appropriately maintained
• Organizes and ensures appropriate operations of program/department systems
• Develops and ensures implementation of program development, evaluation, and public relations plan
• Holds fiscal responsibility for creating and managing program/department budget
• Monitors all funding and other contracts for compliance, concerns, and opportunities and informs the Community Service Manager/Core Service Director of any pertinent information
• Assures proper maintenance of Avatar and the CHSW FIS record keeping system
• Participates in regional administrative activities: i.e., management meetings, regional budget preparation
• Participates in and responds to the regional strategic planning process
• In partnership with the Community Service Manager, hires and supervises all program staff
• Maintains regular supervisory meetings with individual staff to review consumer cases and evaluate work assignments
• Maintains a working knowledge of activities for all consumers
• Provides an annual evaluation of all staff and makes personnel recommendations to the Community Service Manager
• May provide a variety of direct services to consumers
• Promotes program activities and increases program visibility through community, state, and national activities
• May participate in coordinated research projects with other appropriate professionals and groups, as individually approved
• Assists the Community Service Manager with other related activities and duties as assigned


In addition to the duties listed above, this clinical program requires the following duties and responsibilities:

• Clinical supervision to program staff
• Organizes and ensures appropriate operations of program systems, i.e., intake, case assignment
• May coordinate psychiatric and legal consultation with program staff
• May provide a variety of direct services to consumers including case management, treatment plans, therapeutic services, planned crisis intervention, etc
• Advocates for the values of a diverse population within CHSW and the Community


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Masters degree in Social Work or related field plus a minimum 5 years clinical and administrative experience.
. Must possess one of the following licenses: Advanced Social Worker, Independent Social Worker , Marriage and Family Therapist, or Mental Health Counselor. Additional training in one or more of the following specialized clinical areas: sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence, mental illness, and chemical abuse are helpful. Requires specialized training in management, administration, and/or planning
• 2 years demonstrated supervisory experience, which reflects progressive responsibilities in hiring, firing, training, performance evaluations, conflict resolution and disciplinary counseling
• Experience working directly with children, youth, and family programs. The programs requires experience working directly with children, youth, and families implementing treatment interventions using a variety of clinical principles, and must show skill in complex clinical assessments and diagnosis
• May require specialized training in management, administration, and/or planning
• Must possess strong human relations' skills to effectively communicate with staff, management, and community
• Experience and skill in community organizing and community liaison
• Proficient in MS Office
• Must possess strong human relations skills to communicate and work effectively within a culturally diverse work environment and community
• Requires the ability to work independently, organize and prioritize responsibility
